World is an impressive desktop/laptop platform for presenting information that has a relationship to time and geography. World is a powerful compliment to our widely acclaimed Palm OS based product.
The first desktop/laptop version of World will render world time, weather, plot itinerary routes and provide links into an encyclopedia. Additionally users will be able to lookup people in their address book and view phone details along with their current time. No more waking people up at the wrong hour! Thirdly there is a very clever time calculator for organizing meetings across time zones.
World has a plug-in architecture and so can actually render and capture information that has a relationship with time and geography. Satellite trajectories, seismic activities and stock quotes all lend themselves to being presented by World. The plug-ins are software libraries and can be written by us or we can provide a kit for third party software development.

World has been built with performance in mind and works well on laptops given its consideration of power consumption. World is also built on platform independent technologies including OpenGL. World will run on Mac OS X and Windows and can be ported to PDAs, phones and Unix platforms.
